How it all started
Restaurant Bar Bistro DuCo opened its doors in April 2017 at its first location, right in the historic heart of Middelburg. This new culinary hotspot in Zeeland quickly became a success. Shortly after, branches in Deurne (North Brabant) and Winterswijk (Gelderland) followed. What started in Middelburg has since grown into a restaurant concept with locations throughout the Netherlands and more are still being added. All our restaurants are stylishly and contemporarily designed, featuring a modern, bold retro look with warm brown, orange, and green tones. Robust materials, striking details, and a playful mix of patterns give each restaurant its own unique character.

The power of Josper charcoalovens
The beating heart of our kitchen? The Josper charcoal oven. This innovative Spanish oven is a unique combination of grill and oven, fueled by 100% European oak and beech charcoal. The Josper is the secret flavor enhancer behind many of our dishes and has become the best friend of all our DuCo chefs. Thanks to its closed system and perfectly controllable hot air circulation, every piece of meat, fish, poultry, and vegetable develops that distinctive, intense grilled flavor. Meat becomes wonderfully tender, fish gains a delicate texture, and vegetables become surprisingly full of flavor. On our menu, you’ll find a selection of dishes specially prepared in the Josper, all year round. Thanks to this charcoal oven, dining at Bar Bistro DuCo turns into a true taste sensation.

We believe in the power of pure ingredients and honest products. That's why we work with seasonal, sustainable and, whenever possible, local products. We find it important that our guests not only enjoy delicious dishes, but also know where their food comes from. In this way, together we ensure a conscious and tasteful dining experience.
